EAT BIG FISH. type animation “I love Teresa”
•December 11, 2009 • Leave a CommentAn animation idea to bring life to a few lines of text. I have gone with a playful feel trying to stay away from typical kinetic type.
We had efectively only a few days to create this animation before sending it off to the client compiled with 9 other students animations.
Final Animation. Brighton Pier – “Siren”
•June 9, 2009 • 2 CommentsThe final story is rather abstract. The old pier character is tempted by the beauty of the new pier to leave his home and cross the treacherous stormy sea. Little does he know that this is merely a siren that shall aid his eventual destruction. I have tried to keep the characters as ominous as possible, giving the impression that the human figures resemble the piers themselves rather than real people. The ending is scripted to give a sense that the whole fiasco was merely a trickery of the dark and that none of the characters or events really existed, but the final scene is of the still smouldering old pier…. so perhaps it was real after all?
The target audience for this film would probably be the residents of Brighton who have more of an understanding for the culture and history of the Piers, although I would be aiming for it to stand up in its own right as a short film. For public viewing obviously there would be a large amount of additional work to go in refining the animation and plot.
Progress. 50% complete (rough edit)
•June 4, 2009 • 1 CommentOk it has become very apparent in this update that the sound track will be what holds this animation together, sets the pace, mood and atmosphere… Perhaps rater than detailing the animation after the rough edit i will get the sound sorted, and then spend all my free time refining it up until the hand in.
Current progress.
•June 3, 2009 • Leave a CommentAnd following trend here is the progress of the final few frames before the action kicks off.
These have just been roughed out and need a lot of camera work and extra animation added to bring them to life. this is all in the pipeline.
I am currently wondering whether the “woman’s” silhouette should be white instead of black to correspond with her white face more. I will wait until the full narrative is animated and decide from there, it all depending on how easy the story is to follow.
